Matrinox - DB 90

(2,4 DICHLORO BENZOYL PEROXIDE)

Inroduction:

It is a white homogeneous paste of 2,4 DICHLORO BENZOYL PEROXIDE in 50% Polydimethyl siloxane. This is mainly used for low temperature crosslinking of silicone rubbers. The compounds can be cured without external pressure (hot air/or IR crosslinking).

Applications:

1 Used as a catalyst for cross-linking a variety of synthetic rubbers.
2 It is used in combination with other peroxides.

Advantages:

1 Not oxygen inhibited.
2 Can be used in hot air cures at atmospheric pressures at temperatures from 150-250 C.
3 Decomposition products have a very low vapor pressure so porosity does not normally occur.
4 It has the lowest activation temperature and the highest rate of cure of any of the common peroxides used in cross-linking.
5 It is ideally suited for fast curing of thin cross-sections in continuous cures.
